Athletic Recovery IV
Fluids, electrolytes, and amino acid support, delivered wherever race weekend leaves you.
Charlotte's athletic calendar runs the full range. Race weekends out at the Speedway. Marathon groups logging twenty-milers before the sun is up. Club tournaments that eat a whole Saturday, triathlons at the lake, and youth sports weekends that wear out the parents as much as the kids. Different sports, same physiology: hard efforts drain fluid, electrolytes, and recovery capacity faster than a water bottle puts them back.
An athletic recovery IV skips the digestive middle step. Fluids and nutrients go straight into your bloodstream, so absorption is fast and complete even when your stomach wants nothing to do with food or sports drinks. The Hydration Company brings the drip to you: your house, your hotel, the rental near the venue, wherever the weekend has you.
Who books this drip
Recovery IVs make sense for anyone whose training or competition outpaces normal hydration:
- Runners deep in a marathon or half-marathon block, especially through a Charlotte summer
- Tournament athletes playing three matches in a day on short turnarounds
- Endurance athletes prepping for a race or crawling home from one
- Lifters and CrossFit athletes coming off a testing week or competition
- Coaches and parents who stood in the same heat for the same twelve hours
Some clients book after the effort to bounce back faster. Others book a day or two before an event so they start topped off. Both are common.
What is in it, and what to expect
These drips are built from the ingredient classes recovery actually uses: IV fluids for volume, electrolytes for what you sweat out, amino acids for muscle repair support, and B vitamins for energy metabolism. Vitamin C and zinc can round out the bag. The exact formulary is set by our medical director, and pricing is confirmed when you book.
Honest expectations: an IV replaces fluid and nutrients quickly and can shorten that flat, heavy-legged stretch after a big effort. It is not a substitute for training, sleep, or food, and it will not make you fitter on its own. Treat it as one more recovery tool, next to the foam roller and the early bedtime.
Booking around your race calendar
Every visit is run by licensed medical professionals under physician oversight. Your nurse reviews a short health screening, places the line, and monitors the drip from start to finish. A typical IV runs about 45 minutes to an hour, so it fits between a morning race and an afternoon obligation.
If the event is on the calendar, book a day or two out. If it already happened and you feel like a wrung-out towel, same-day appointments are often available. Compare drips on the IV menu, then book online or call 704.924.1300 and tell us where you will be.
